Inmarsat C offers the opportunity to transmit Urgent calls. This can be used for example for transmission of an urgent medical request. After making the text in the editor screen this could be easily transmitted to the radio medical service of a station associated with a LES by using the Inmarsat special access code '32'. This code could be found in the list in the Appendix. For example to the Dutch LES Burum is associated to the Dutch MRCC Den Helder Rescue which offers a radio medical service. The list of MRCC's associated to a LES can be found in the Appendix. The transmission of this kind of urgent calls will normally be free of charge.
