The Message terminal connected to the Inmarsat C transceiver is used for the control of the transmission and reception of messages.
The Message terminal consists of:
1. The screen display.
2. The disc drive, used for the storage of messages etc.
On the rear side of the terminal we will find:
3. the connector for the keyboard, used for operating the software program installed on the terminal.
4. DC input connector: voltage has to be between 10 and 32 Volt DC.
5. Printer connector, can be used for connecting a second printer, the hard copy printer has to be connected to the transceiver.
6. Com 1, DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) connector can be used for connection of additional equipment.
7. Com 2, DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) connector can be used for connection of additional equipment.
