The Press To Talk (PTT) or “PRESSEL” switch is usually mounted on one side of the microphone or in the middle of the handgrip of a telephone-style handset. To operate it correctly, you first have to press it in order to switch the radio from receive mode to transmit mode and then release it in order to revert to receive mode.

The lighted symbol Tx (transmitting) appears on the display during the broadcast.
Before commencing transmission, an operator has to press PTT to tune the antenna to the selected frequency. The symbol TUNE appears on the display. When turned off it means that the MF/HF Radio is ready for transmission.
Operator can also press the '0' (zero) button for re-tuning the antenna tuner.
