The Press To Talk (PTT) or “PRESSEL” switch is usually mounted on one side of the microphone or in the middle of the handgrip of a telephone-style handset. To operate correctly, you have to press it in order to switch the radio from receive mode to transmit mode and then release it in order to revert to receive mode.

The symbol Tx (transmitting) or Rx (receiving) appears on the display during broadcast or reception.
