Procedure worden of prowords zijn woorden of uitdrukkingen die alleen voor RT (radio telefonie) bestemd zijn om berichtgeving te vergemakkelijken door informatie in een gecomprimeerde vorm door te geven.

Aan bovenstaande tabel zijn niet toegevoegd Nood, Spoed en Veiligheids procedure woorden zoals bijvoorbeel Mayday, aangezien hun gebruik in detail in de volgende hoofdstukken wordt behandeld.

Een voorbeeld van een gesprek tussen Spinaker en Aurora waarbij verscheidene procedure woorden werden gebruikt - ze worden als hoofdletters geschreven. Getallen in een procedure woord "I READ YOU 3 BY 5" hebben de volgende betekenis: 1-slecht, 2-matig, 3-redelijk, 4-goed, 5-uitstekend.
